How exact age is counted
Exact age is counted in full years first, then full months, then the remaining days. For example, from May 15, 1990 to October 2, 2026 is 36 years, 4 months and 17 days.
Totals in months, weeks and days are shown too, which is handy for babies and small children, or for forms that ask for age in months.

FAQ
Who is this age calculator for?
Anyone filling in a form that asks for their age, school or HR staff checking whether someone meets an age cutoff on a specific date, parents tracking a baby’s age in months or weeks, and anyone curious about which day of the week they were born on.
When is it useful?
For example, when an application asks for your age as of a cutoff date, set the second date to that day. You can also see how many days old you are, or count down the days to a family member’s next birthday.
What are the benefits of using it?
No more off-by-one mistakes around the birthday. Your exact age, totals in months, weeks and days, and your next birthday all appear at once, so you don’t have to count again. February 29 birthdays are handled consistently too.
How is age calculated?
Your age goes up by one on your birthday each year, starting from 0 at birth. The exact age counts full years, then full months, then the remaining days.
Is my date of birth sent anywhere?
No. The calculation happens in your browser. The dates you enter are not saved either, so nothing is kept after you close the page.
How are February 29 birthdays handled?
In years without February 29, the birthday is counted on March 1, both for your age and for the next birthday. Rules can differ by country, so check local rules for legal purposes.
Can I calculate age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the second date to any day. It starts at today, and the “Today” button sets it back to today.
How is the years, months and days figure counted?
Full years first, then the full months left over, then the remaining days. For example, someone born on May 15, 1990 is 36 years, 4 months and 17 days old on October 2, 2026.
Can I see my age in months, weeks or days?
Yes. The result shows your age in months (plus days), in weeks (plus days) and the total number of days since birth, which is handy for babies and small children.
How is the next birthday shown?
You get the date and weekday of your next birthday, how many days are left, and the age you will turn. If the selected date is your birthday, it says so.
Can I find out what day of the week I was born?
Yes. The “Born on” line shows your date of birth with its day of the week.
Where does “today” come from?
Today’s date is taken from your device. If your device’s date is wrong, or you want another day, pick the date by hand.
Why don’t I see a result?
If the date of birth is after the selected date, a warning appears and nothing is calculated. Fix either date. An empty date field also shows “—”.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. You can pick dates with your phone’s date picker. On narrow screens, the results appear below the inputs.
