How to use

  1. 1. Enter one name per lineNames alone are fine, like "Alex". To balance skill, add a number like "Alex 5". To spread gender or leaders, add tags with #, like "Alex #F #leader".
  2. 2. Choose the number of teams or team sizePick "Teams" or "People per team", enter a number and press Make teams. If it does not divide evenly, teams differ by one person.
  3. 3. Rules and splitting again"Add rules" lets you keep people apart or together. "Split again" makes new teams that avoid putting people with the same teammates as before.

FAQ

Who is this for?

Gamers making balanced in-house teams (League of Legends, VALORANT, Splatoon, Apex and so on), teachers and trainers making groups, people picking sides for soccer or basketball, and anyone who reshuffles groups several times.

How do I enter skill?

Add a number after the name (for example: Alex 5). Use a bigger number for a stronger player, such as a rank, rating or skill level. Teams are split so their totals are as equal as possible, and the total for each team and the gap between the strongest and weakest team are shown. People without a number count as the average of everyone else.

Can I spread gender or leaders?

Add tags with # after the name (for example: Sam #F, Lee #leader). People with the same tag are spread so each team gets as even a number as possible. You can add as many tags as you like.

How do keep apart and keep together work?

Open "Add rules" and enter "name, name" on a line. People to keep apart go to different teams, and people to keep together go to the same team. If the rules conflict and cannot all be kept, it says so.

Will people get the same teammates again?

With "Avoid previous teammates" on, each "Split again" avoids pairs who were already on a team together as much as possible. Depending on the numbers, some repeats may be unavoidable. "Start over" clears the history.

Is it really random?

Yes. Each time it picks, from different random splits, one that best meets the rules (skill, tags, keep apart and so on). With no rules, it is a plain random split.
