Gamepad Tester
Connect your controller and press any button. Pressed buttons light up on the picture, and you can measure stick drift (movement without touching) in numbers.
- Is the cable a data cable, not a charge-only one?
- Is another app such as Steam using the controller? (Close it and try again.)
- For Bluetooth, pair the controller in your computer's (or phone's) settings first.
- Did you press a button while this page was in front?
On a Switch Pro Controller, ZL and ZR only read as pressed or not pressed (no in-between values).

Stick drift
Take your fingers off the sticks, then press. Measures the offset from the centre for 3 seconds. The lines are a guide, not a fault diagnosis.

How to use
- 1. Connect and press a buttonConnect the controller to your computer (or phone) by USB or Bluetooth and press any button. Browsers don't show a controller to the page until a button is pressed.
- 2. Press every buttonButtons turn black while held and green once pressed. Triggers show how far they're pressed. A red dot shows each stick's position.
- 3. Check drift and circularityTake your fingers off the sticks and press “Measure drift” to measure how far they read from the centre for 3 seconds. Rotate each stick all the way around a few times to see its circularity.
If you think a stick is drifting
- Clean dust from around the stick
- Reconnect the controller and check the battery
- Try the calibration in your console or computer settings
- If the offset is still large, copy the result and use it when asking for a repair or replacement
FAQ
Who is this for?
Anyone who thinks a stick moves by itself (drift), anyone buying or selling a used controller, anyone who wants numbers to show a repair shop or support, and anyone checking every button on a new controller.
My controller doesn't show up
Press any button after connecting it. Browsers only tell the page about a controller after a button is pressed. If it still doesn't appear, reconnect it or try another browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
What is stick drift?
It's when a stick reads as slightly tilted even though nobody touches it. This page measures how far each stick is from the centre (0 to 1, where 1 is the edge) during 3 seconds with your fingers off. Under 0.05 is a small offset, 0.05–0.15 is a slight offset, and 0.15 or more is likely drift. Many games ignore small offsets near the centre, so a slight offset may not cause problems. Where the line is drawn differs between tools and shops, so this verdict is only a guide, not a fault diagnosis.
How do I do a stick drift test?
Connect the controller and press any button so the browser shows it. Take your fingers off the sticks and press “Measure drift”: for 3 seconds the page measures how far each stick reads from the centre. 0.15 or more is likely drift; the verdict is only a guide.
What is circularity (outer edge error)?
A guide to how round the stick's range is when pushed all the way around. The circle is split into 36 parts; the farthest reading in each is compared with 1, and the differences are averaged. Closer to 0% is rounder; some controllers read larger only on the diagonals.
The button names are wrong
Switch between PlayStation, Xbox and Switch labels. The first choice is based on the controller's name. The picture is correct for controllers the browser reports as “standard” layout; for other controllers, see the values by number under “All buttons and axes”.
I can't test vibration
The button only works when both the browser and the controller support vibration. If they don't, the page says so.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, if the controller is connected to the phone and the browser supports controllers.
Is my input sent anywhere?
No. It's only read and shown on this page. The result is copied as text only when you press “Copy result”.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up.
