FAQ
Who is this tool for?
It suits office and sales staff who need to send only a few pages of a long document, anyone who scanned a stack of papers into one file and wants a PDF per page, people splitting two-page forms or slips into one file per person or case, teachers and students pulling the chapters they need from a textbook or paper, and anyone handling confidential documents (nothing is uploaded).
When is it most useful?
For example, when you only want to share 3 pages of a 100-page document, when a form asks for just part of a file, when you scanned many sheets at once and want each one saved separately, or when a PDF is too big to send and you want to send it in parts.
What do I gain from using it?
You can send only the pages that matter and keep the rest to yourself. Splitting into single pages or every N pages takes one click, and the results are saved together as a ZIP. There’s nothing to install and no account to create.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Splitting happens in your browser, so contracts and confidential documents never leave your device. If you use Premium, the page checks once a day that your subscription is active; only your Premium key is sent for that, never your PDFs.
How do I choose pages?
“1-3” means pages 1 to 3, “5” means page 5 only, and “1-3, 5” means both.
How do I write “page 3 to the end”?
Write “3-”. You can combine ranges, single pages and open ends, like “1-3, 5” or “3-”.
Can I save each range as its own PDF?
Yes. Tick “Save each comma-separated range as a separate PDF”. For “1-3, 5” you get one PDF with pages 1–3 and another with page 5.
How do “Every page” and “Every N pages” split the file?
“Every page” makes one PDF for each page. “Every N pages” splits from the start in groups of the number you enter; for example, a 7-page PDF split every 2 pages gives four files with 2, 2, 2 and 1 pages.
Can I change the page order when extracting?
Yes. In “Choose pages”, writing “5, 1-3” gives one PDF with page 5 first, followed by pages 1 to 3.
What are the split files called?
The page numbers are added to the original name (for example, report_1-3.pdf). One result is saved as a PDF; two or more are saved together in a ZIP. Your original PDF is not changed.
Can I split several PDFs at once?
Yes, with Premium. All PDFs are split the same way and saved as one ZIP. On the free plan, split them one at a time.
Can I split password-protected PDFs?
No. Protected PDFs can't be opened here, so you'll see a notice. PDFs with editing or printing restrictions (encryption) may not open either, even if they don’t ask for a password.
Does it work on a phone? Is there a page limit?
It works on phones. There is no set limit on pages or file size, but very large PDFs can take longer depending on your device.
Are bookmarks and links kept?
The page content (text, images and drawings) is kept as it is. Bookmarks (the outline) and links between pages may not be carried over.
Can I split a two-page spread into left and right pages?
No. This tool splits a PDF by whole pages; it can’t cut a single page into parts.
Can I print one big page across several sheets (poster/tiled printing)?
No. This tool splits a PDF into separate PDFs by page. To tile one large page across several sheets, check the print settings of your PDF viewer.
